Celebrating Pride Month: Driving Forward with Transportation Electrification

To kick off Pride Month, we’re excited to shine a spotlight on the intersection of LGBTQIA+ advocacy and the movement toward electrified transportation. The drive towards sustainable transportation is a journey that benefits from the passion, innovation, and leadership of the LGBTQIA+ individuals paving the way for a greener future.

Just as so many other movements, the movement for electrified transportation depends on advocates that want to bring about healthier communities. There is a long history of LGBTQIA+ individuals who fight for social justice and equity, and they have played a significant role in pushing for clean energy solutions that benefit everyone. Many of these individuals and their organizations are allies at the forefront of the EV (electric vehicle) transition, striving to make this form of transportation more accessible to all communities.

We’d like to highlight some inspiring organizations that are not only leaders in advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community, but are also making significant strides in carbon reduction and environmental justice advocacy.

Out for Sustainability – This organization works to provide a platform for climate justice and LGBTQIA+ communities. They sponsor several service projects and initiatives, including Qready – who focus on the interrelated problems of invisibility and vulnerability, specifically within the Queer and Trans Black and Indigenous communities.

Queer X Climate – The international organization Queer X Climate asks its members to pledge 50% carbon reduction by 2030 through personal change and community advocacy. The goal of this organization is to raise environmental awareness around and within the LGBTQIA+ community. QXC celebrates diversity, and the X in their name is inspired by the Latin X movement, and offers its site in English and Spanish.

Good Energy Stories – This organization works to bring current events into scripts for television and film, including stories around climate change and carbon reduction. They are considered “Hollywood’s Climate Advisor” and offer everything from character profiles, to climate psychology, to script workshops.

REACH Strategies is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can thrive and contribute to our mission of EV education and awareness. Diversity in our workforce drives innovation and ensures that our work has a wide range of perspectives, allowing us to develop more effective and creative solutions.

Happy Pride Month from all of us at REACH Strategies.
