Communications Program Strategist (HYBRID) - Missouri - Illinois

Communications Program Strategist | Hybrid

  • Job Title: Communications Program Strategist

  • Compensation: $80,000-$95,000 DOE + Benefits

The Role

We’re seeking a Communications Program Strategist to plan and run communications and engagement campaigns that accelerate electrification and clean energy adoption. You’ll own day-to-day strategy and execution across digital, social, email, and partner channels; support community events; and turn analytics into continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, launch, and optimize multi-channel campaigns promoting electrification and EV adoption across MO/IL.
  • Manage content calendars and publishing across web, email, and social platforms; write and edit compelling copy.
  • Build segmented audience journeys (awareness → engagement → action), including list growth and nurture flows.
  • Coordinate creative production with designers, vendors, and print teams; ensure brand and accessibility standards.
  • Support event planning and on-site execution (e.g., ride-and-drives, trainings, community workshops).
  • Set and track KPIs (e.g., CTR, CVR, event registrations, cost per lead); run A/B tests and report insights.
  • Conduct baseline/benchmark research; translate findings into campaign strategy and stakeholder recommendations.
  • Maintain strong internal communication and project hygiene (timelines, briefs, retros) with cross-functional teams.
  • Cultivate external relationships with community partners, dealers, media, and suppliers.
  • Use Zoho tools (CRM, Campaigns, Analytics) and Asana (or equivalent) for planning, tracking, and reporting.

Requirements

  • 4–6+ years of agency or in-house campaigns experience serving multiple clients or programs
  • 2+ years event planning/production supporting public-facing engagement
  • Demonstrated copywriting/editorial skills and comfort presenting to clients and public audiences
  • Fluency in digital/social platforms and engagement-marketing principles; strong understanding of user-centered design
  • Proven ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and make sound, timely decisions
  • Ability to seek guidance and support from senior leadership
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and collaboration; thrives on cross-functional teamwork
  • Proficiency with cloud collaboration tools; effective remote work habits on a distributed team
  • Ability to collaborate with external vendors (design, web, printing, etc.)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
  • Commitment to our mission and to inclusive, community-centered outreach

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Zoho and Asana
  • Slack best practices
  • WordPress experience
  • Media/PR experience (pitches, advisories, press coordination)

Working Conditions

This is a hybrid role: primarily home-based within the St. Louis/Collinsville area with regular in-person meetings/events (1–4×/month) and 25–30% travel for partner meetings and events. This role requires the ability to lift at least 30lbs, bend and reach, setup basic event materials (tent, table, chairs, etc.), and remain onsite at events for a minimum of 8 hours.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range $80,000–$95,000 DOE plus an excellent benefits package including medical/dental/vision, retirement plan, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
